Getting Married in Spain
Unless you are a Spanish citizen or full time Spanish resident you
cannot have a legal civil marriage in Spain.
What are your options?
NON RESIDENTS
A civil ceremony in your country of origin or in Gibraltar, followed
by a wedding blessing ceremony at Hacienda La Alahaja.
A Roman Catholic Church wedding, providing you are both Roman Catholic,
you will need a permission from your local parish priest and a
dispensation from the Bishop in Malaga. There is a very pretty village
church in our nearest pueblo. Or for a grander affair, Antequera, our
nearest large town has a wealth of fabulous Baroque Churches to choose
from.
RESIDENTS
A civil wedding at the town hall or conducted by the Mayor in the
gardens of the Hacienda, followed by a Wedding Blessing.
Wedding Blessings
We can arrange Wedding Blessing with a Church of England
Vicar or Humanist Minister. We can also organise Jewish
weddings and Gay weddings. Couples are most welcome to bring their own
Celebrant if they prefer to do so.
